Enrollment for postgraduate examination in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan is an important part of postgraduate recruitment. In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the General Secretary's important speech and instructions on comprehensively promoting the prevention and control of COVID-19 and economic and social development. In accordance to the principles of safety, science, fairness and standardization and the spirit of relevant documents of the Ministry of Education, We hereby formulate specific measures for the enrollment of postgraduate students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in 2020.

Part I Qualifications

1. Candidates from Hong Kong and Macao must hold permanent identity cards for Hong Kong and Macao residents and "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents" (or "Hong Kong and Macao Residence Permit");Taiwan candidates musthold valid identity certificates for residence in Taiwan and "Taiwan Residents' Mainland Travel Permit" (or "Taiwan Residents' Residence Permit").

2. Postgraduates applying for master's degree (hereinafter referred to as master's students) must have a degree equivalent to the bachelor's degree in the mainland (mainland China) or an equivalent degree.

Candidates for doctoral degree (hereinafter referred to as doctoral students) must have a degree equivalent to the mainland (mainland China) master's degree or an equivalent degree.

3. There are written recommendations from two scholars with associate professor or above or equivalent title related to the major you are applying for.

Part II Form of Examination

According to the epidemic prevention and control requirements and the actual situation of our university, in 2020, we will recruit postgraduate students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in the form of remote online examination.

Part III Examination Content and Schedule

The examination consists of written examination and interview:

1. Written examination (full score: 300 points)

(1) The foreign language test will be 100 points, and the test time will be 1 hour, at 10 a.m. on July 15 (the detailed remote test notice will be published on the home page of the Graduate School at that time);

(2) 200 points for core course test, the test time will be2 hours.

Test subjects: Quantum Mechanics, General Physics I.

The examination time is 9:30-11:30 a.m. on July 14.

(The candidates will be informed of the long-distance examination arrangement by email, telephone, etc.)

2. Interview (full score: 100 points)

(1) Content: professional knowledge and comprehensive quality assessment, interview time: 30 minutes.

(2) Interview passing line: 60 points. Those who fail the interview will not be admitted.

(3) Interview time: 3 p.m. on July 14.

Part IV Examination Preparation

1. Qualification materials review

Our school strictly conducts qualification examination, score verification and information verification for candidates.

Candidates must send the following materials to the following designated mailbox before July 10. Please prepare the original copies of the following materials for future reference:

(1) A scanned copy of the Letter of Commitment for the Integrity Test of Nanjing University candidates in 2020 (Appendix 1, signed by the candidates themselves);

(2) A scanned copy of the original identity certificate (not a photo);

(3) A scanned copy of academic degree certificate;

(4) A scanned copy of examination permit;

(5) A scanned copy of the electronic or paper transcript of the examinee's academic performance at school;

(6) A scanned copy of the original relevant materials that can prove the examinee's English ability;

(7) Two recommendation letters from experts;

(8) Full face certificate photo of the candidate.

After receiving the materials, we will strictly review them. Those who have not undergone qualification examination, score verification and information verification shall not take the examination.

2. Preparation for remote examination

(1) Examination site environment: During the online examination, the examination discipline is the same as that of the on-site examination. During the examination, electronic equipment irrelevant to the examination is closed. Candidates must choose an independent, closed, quiet and bright place to take the exam; During the examination, no one should enter or leave the examination site, and no one should exchange information with others. Before and during the examination, if necessary, candidates are obliged to cooperate with the examination staff to check the examination site environment in real time through on-site video.

(2) Identity verification: Candidates should prepare valid personal identity documents and examination permit for examination during the examination.

(3) Equipment preparation: candidates shall prepare their own personal computers connected to broadband networks (4G standby), disable computer hibernation and screen shutdown functions during the exam, and close applications that may affect the exam. In order to prevent accidents, candidates should prepare mobile phones (set to mute and cancel vibration) that are kept unblocked throughout the test, and the mobile phone number should be consistent with the one filled in at the time of registration; If replacement is required, it shall be reported to the Graduate Work Office of our college at least one day in advance and can only be replaced after confirmation.

(4) Software preparation: Tencent conference platform will be used throughout this remote online examination (including interview and written examination). Please download the software in advance and be familiar with its usage. The examination staff will inform the examination meeting by email before the examination. Please check your email to get the conference room and other information. If you still haven't received the email at 17:00 on the day before the written examination and interview, please contact the Graduate Office of the School of Physics by phone or WeChat.

Part V Remote Online Examination Process

1. Written test instructions

(1) Answer paper preparation Before the written examination begins, candidates must prepare at least two white A4 papers as the answer paper in advance, and write the specialty, examination permit number and name on the top of each answer paper. Candidates may prepare additional draft paper, but no other handwriting is allowed.

(2) Examinees' network environment inspection and qualification review

Thirty minutes before the written examination officially begins, the examinee enters the conference room with his real name, turns on the camera and microphone and keeps quiet, tests the network separately, and ensures that the video signal is clear and smooth.

After entering the meeting room, the examinee must hold the ID card at the prompt of the invigilator according to the implementation method of the online written examination, and the invigilator will enlarge the screen to extract the examinee's information (ensure that the face is in the same frame as the ID card). The written examination can be conducted only when the ID card, examination permit or registration information photo are consistent with the examinee himself.

During the qualification examination, candidates should show their surroundings to ensure that there are no other people around and that they are not wearing headphones or other communication devices.

The whole process of the examination is videotaped. Once the examinee is found cheating, the examination results will be canceled.

(3) The invigilator shall simultaneously upload the test questions to the shared files in the conference room, and the candidates shall download and read them.

(4) The examinee answers the question. The examinee opens the examination paper and begins to answer the question. In the process of answering questions, the camera and microphone of the laptop or desktop computer must be turned on all the time, and the scope displayed in the camera should include the examinee's head, hands and answer sheet. If the network is stuck or disconnected due to network problems, please reconnect the network and log in to the conference room as soon as possible. During the written examination, you are not allowed to read any books and other materials related to the secondary examination.

(5) After the completion of the examination, the examinee must take a full screen photo of the answer sheet within 10 minutes and send it to the invigilator's email（ yhzhang@nju.edu.cn ）Candidates who do not receive the email within the time limit will be deemed as absent. Candidates should not leave the meeting room after answering questions. They should not leave the meeting room until the invigilator announces that they have received your answers.

2. Interview Instructions

Before the interview begins, candidates must do a good job in equipment debugging, network inspection, software testing, test site environment preparation, etc. Candidates enter Tencent's meeting room 30 minutes before the time specified for the interview. After entering the meeting, the examination staff will conduct online review, examination environment inspection, etc.

[Note]: The invigilator will record all the computer screens used in the interview or written examination. Candidates are requested to follow the rules of the examination room.

3. Precautions

(1) Network test shall be carried out in advance. It is recommended to prepare broadband network and mobile traffic modes to prevent mobile traffic connection from being switched in time after broadband network disconnection.

(2) Ensure the power supply of relevant equipment is stable and sufficient.

(3) Dress appropriately, do not wear a mask, do not block your ears with your hair, do not wear accessories, and do not use headphones.

(4) Fully prepare for the test, and do not leave the test area without permission during the test; No other personnel shall be present or in the middle of the exam.

(5) If the examinee is unable to take the exam at the specified time due to personal reasons and still fails to enter the site after being reminded by the examinee via WeChat or telephone, it shall be deemed that he/she automatically waives the exam qualification, and the consequences shall be borne by the examinee.

Part VI Proposed Admission Method

1. The written examination scores (full score: 300 points) and interview scores (full score: 100 points) of the candidates add up to the comprehensive scores. The candidates are selected according to the comprehensive scores, and the proposed enrollment list is reported to the Graduate School. Candidates must pass the interview, otherwise they will not be accepted.

2. After being approved by the Graduate School, the list of candidates to be enrolled will be published online. After the enrollment process specified by the Graduate School is completed, an admission notice will be issued to the candidates to be enrolled.

Part VII. Handling of Examination Violations

1. The postgraduate examination for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan is a part of the national postgraduate recruitment examination, and the contents of the examination are classified as national secrets. Candidates are not allowed to record and disseminate information related to the examination, such as the content and process of the examination, in any form such as audio or video. In case of any violation, it will be deemed as cheating, and relevant responsibilities will be investigated according to law.

2. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, examinees who violate the enrollment management regulations and examination room discipline and affect the fairness and justice of enrollment shall be dealt with according to the Measures for Handling Violations of National Education Examination. For the students in school, the school shall be notified, and the school shall punish them according to relevant regulations, until they are expelled from school; For on-the-job candidates, the applicant's unit shall be notified, and the unit shall, depending on the circumstances, impose Party discipline or political discipline sanctions. The violation and cheating facts of the examinee shall be recorded in the Credibility File of National Education Examination Candidates and the examinee's personnel file.

3. According to the Interpretation on Several Issues Concerning the Application of Law to the Handling of Criminal Cases such as Cheating in the Organization of Examinations, the organization of cheating in the postgraduate recruitment reexamination and the substitution for the examination are "serious" criminal cases, which will be transferred to the relevant departments for conviction and sentencing according to law.

Part VIII Information Disclosure and Supervision Mechanism

The results of material review and the secondary examination results of all candidates (including candidates to be admitted) will be published on the homepage of the hospital.

Part IX Appeal Mechanism
